Silvereye Trio

This original painting was inspired by the wonderful photography of Paula Bowler. I've always had a soft spot for the humble silvereye, since finding a lost baby on a busy Brisbane city footpath years ago. I was out for a run (did I mention, YEARS ago!) and this tiny thing was chirping at me in the middle of the path. I waited for AGES to see if mum was nearby, but ended up taking it to the RSPCA. Was that the right choice? I'm still not sure... But I am a tragic bird nerd and happier knowing it wasn't skittled by a cyclist or eaten by a cat!
